"Mutual Masturbation" can mean any the following masturbatory activities. The event can be accomplished by males or females, either in pairs or groups:
- Non-Contact Mutual Masturbation - One person masturbating in the presence of another person but not touching each other. This is the most frequent type of mutual mastur activity (Slang: Jacking off together, Jerking off with each other, or Wanking together).
- Contact Mutual Masturbation - One person physically touching another person to masturbate. The other person does the same during or after. (Slang: Sometimes referred to as "frottage" when rubbing bodies together).
- Non-Contact Group - More than two people masturbating in the presence of each other in a group but not touching each other. (Slang: Circle Jerk, Circle Jerking Off, or Circle Jacking Off, as well as others).
- Contact Group - More than two people physically touching each other to masturbate as a group. (Slang: Masturbation Orgy)
- Mutual Masturbation Foreplay - The manual stimulation of each other's genitals where the session eventually leads to sex.
